DELIVERY

Delivery, clearly explained.

Delivery zones, charges, lead times and what you need to know before your first order arrives.

Delivery zones and charges

We deliver across the United Kingdom. Your delivery zone is based on the distance from our Leicester warehouse to your delivery address. If you are unsure which zone applies, contact the trade desk and we will confirm it for you.

Zone Coverage Lead time Charge ex VAT Free delivery from
A Within 40 km of Leicester Next working day £18.00 20 cases
B 40–150 km Next working day £28.00 40 cases
C 150–400 km 2 working days £55.00 1 pallet equivalent
D Remote areas and islands 3–4 working days £95.00 3 pallet equivalents
How free delivery works: Zones A and B qualify for free delivery once your order reaches the stated number of cases. Zones C and D qualify once your order reaches the stated number of pallet equivalents — a measure of how much space your order takes on a vehicle. See the pallet equivalents section below to work this out.

Order cut-off and lead times

Our order cut-off is 14:00 for the stated lead times. Orders placed after 14:00 are treated as if placed on the next working day. Lead times are working days and exclude weekends and public holidays.

Requested delivery dates are not guaranteed. We will always try to accommodate your preferred date, but the confirmed date is the one we give you when we accept your order. If you have an urgent requirement, contact the trade desk and we will do our best to help.

Delivery requirements and access

To help your delivery go smoothly, please make sure the following are in place before the driver arrives:

Access

Tell us in advance about any access restrictions, narrow entrances, weight limits or parking issues. If you have a loading bay, please confirm its dimensions and available times.

Unloading

Deliveries are made on pallets and our drivers are not able to move stock beyond the tailgate or loading area. Please have someone available to receive and move the goods.

Someone to receive

Please make sure someone is available to check and sign for the delivery during the agreed window. If no one is available, we may need to charge for the failed delivery.

Pallet equivalents

A pallet equivalent is a simple way of measuring how much space your order takes on the delivery vehicle. It is used for the free-delivery thresholds in zones C and D.

To work out the pallet equivalents for your order:

  1. For each product line, divide the number of cases you are ordering by that product's cases-per-pallet figure. You can find this on the catalogue or in the printed price list.
  2. Add up the results for every line.

For example, an order of 42 cases of a product packed 84 cases per pallet equals 0.5 pallet equivalents. The Order at Order calculates this automatically as you build your order.

Pallets and returnable packaging

Deliveries are made on pallets. We operate a one-for-one pallet exchange, so please have the same number of empty pallets available for collection when your next delivery arrives. If you do not have pallets to return, we may need to charge a pallet deposit.

Returnable crates and glass bottles are credited at the deposit value shown on your delivery docket, provided they are returned clean and in a condition suitable for reuse. Packaging that is broken, contaminated or unfit for reuse will not be credited. Full details are in our returns, damage & shortages policy.

Checking your delivery

Please check your delivery carefully before signing for it. If a pallet, case or outer packaging is visibly damaged, wet, crushed or has been tampered with, record it on the delivery docket, photograph the affected items and contact the trade desk. See our returns, damage & shortages policy for reporting deadlines and how we resolve claims.

Failed deliveries

If a delivery cannot be completed because of access restrictions, incorrect information or the absence of a suitable person to receive the goods, we may charge for the failed delivery and any return transport. If you need to change a delivery address or date, please contact the trade desk as soon as possible and at least one working day before the scheduled delivery.
